Aisling Bea

Aisling is an Irish-born comedian that has been in the business for a long time. Her birthplace was in Kildare Ireland on 16th March 1984. She has been on QI alongside Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh (born 16 March, 1984) is a stand-up comedian and actress from Ireland. After appearing in bit parts in a variety of Irish and British television series from 2009 Bea was able to begin her stand-up comedian in 2011. By 2012 she was regularly performing on sketch comedy shows as well as sitcoms. When she was awarded an prize from Edinburgh Comedy Awards in 2011, Edinburgh Comedy Awards in 2011, she became a regular on various panels, and is currently a regular. She's been part of 8 Out of 10 Cats since 2016, and she's a popular contestant of the show's spinoff 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Her parents were Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan and has a sister named Sinead. In 2012, she was the first woman ever to receive the So You Think You Are Funny Award. She uses the surnamed Bea in honor of her deceased father. Aisling Claiodhnadhs Sullivan was born on March 16, 1984, from Kildare, County Kildare. Bea's father Brian is an equine doctor who took his own life at the age of three. Bea didn't learn how her father died until after she was thirteen. In 2017 she wrote an essay for The Guardian about the suicide of her father's family and adopted her stage name Bea in remembrance of him. Bea along with her younger sister Sinead were raised by their mother Helen (nee Moloney) an elementary school teacher, jockey trainer, and professional jockey for a time. The family was obsessed with race meetings and horses. In her youth Bea employed as a tour guide for the Irish National Stud however she realized at an early age that she was not keen on the sport of racing as a job, and was a performer.
